You got your favorite shirt, a bicycle and a backyard swing
When your 14 the girl around the corner doesn’t mean a thing

When your 14 – your riding up the hill
You gonna meet your friends after school
You’ve always got some time to kill
You want more than the world will give you
You settle for Saturday Anything can happen on Saturday

When Your 14 years old

Maybe we’ll head down the pinball parlour
See if there’s some free games left on the machines
I heard they got a new game - it’s called space invaders
Heard some kids talking bout it on the bus.
On the way home from school
Sounded pretty cool - sounded really cool

Well your 14 years old Starting fires and sleeping in tents
When you are 14, your clothes don’t fit you, your room is always a mess
When you’re 14 - you try to runaway
you don’t like authority - don’t like authority – still don’t

And now you don’t even like your dad, or the fun that you once had
You still remember all those days when he took you far away
Who’s to say he might happen again might take you down to the sea
Could happen any day, might happen this Saturday
