That Rock’n’Roll Sound (Originally performed by Challenger-7 - written by Stewart Cunningham) When your feeling blue, just kick off those shoes Put on a rock’n’roll record, let your spirits go flying away Let your dreams run wild today Yeah the guitars are sweet and the stereo’s loud Nothin beats that rock’n’roll sound It’ll pick you up, It’ll turn you around Cut you loose, that rock’n’roll sound Well your team has lost it’s final game The season is over and there is nothing to gain you make it home and you open a beer Put on a record, what do you hear? Yeah the guitars are sweet, the stereo’s loud Nothing beats that rock’n’roll sound It could pick you up if your team never made it Cut you loose, that rock’n’roll sound That rock’n’roll sound!!! I want someone to rock with I want something to roll with ooo ooo yeah So your girlfriends left you for another rman It’s a sweet old world, I can understand Nothing I say could change the sway I’ll keep on singing this rock’n’roll way Well the guitars are sweet and the stereo’s loud Nothing beats that rock’n’roll sound It’ll pick you up and turn you around Cut you loose – that rock’n’roll sound Will turn you around

Melt 04:20
Melt (Originally performed by The Someloves - written by Mather/Mariani) A thought that you may feel and a second that is real And in a moment you will see Why you are there and I am here That’s when you melt away, You melt away Looking for love with someone else as you melt away Searching for signs that are somewhere else as you melt away A breath that you may take is a sign that one must wait And in a moment you will be Just like a sail that must run free That’s when you melt away, you melt away Looking for love with someone else as you melt away Trying to tie it all together as you melt away That’s when you melt away, you melt away Looking for love with someone else as you melt away Searching for signs that are somewhere else as you melt away Wondering what worlds are gonna be out there as you melt away Trying to tie it all together as you melt away Fade and melt away

A Beautiful Sound (written by Stewart Cunningham) It’s getting late at night Staring out on the empty street lights There’s no more cars passing by It’s getting late at night… Up all night, up all night Up all night and the day before The longest day and the longest night I was up all night under empty street lights At last I saw the world so right Reflected by that empty And then I saw the end in sight And then I held a wonderful sight At last I heard a beautiful Sound Everything was alright Up all night, I was up all night Up all night and the day before The longest day and the longest night Up all night under the empty street lights At last I saw the world so right Reflected by that empty night And then I saw the end in sight At last I held a wonderful sight And then I heard a beautiful Sound At then I heard a beautiful Sound Eveything was alright At last I saw the world so right Reflected by that empty night And then I saw everything alright

Edge Of Suburbia (written by Stewart Cunningham) I got lost in suburbia Hanging out at the edge of the world they can’t find me here in suburbia I’m on the internet telephone calls In suburbia - I’ll hide away at the end of the world If you find me here in suburbia You might find yourself in suburbia Spend the days in a haze Computer games and wasting time Searching to free your mind I’m anonymous a face in the middle of a crowd heading home… Heading home thru space, suburbia, I’ll hide away If you find yourself in suburbia You might find the edge of suburbia You’ll pend the days in a haze I got lost in suburbia, I found myself hanging out at the end of the world Just hanging out… Playin guitar just like Neil Young Cruising the bush I got nature and fun Electric blues, another cup of tea Jump on a train ride along with me The edge of suburbia, I’ll fade away They can’t find me here in suburbia You’ll find me on the edge of suburbia You can spend the days in a Haze

I miss ya baby ooooooh those golden days on fire And I got to make you mine All over again, one more time Making up lost time, Making up for lost time ….One more time

See You Tonight (written by Stewart Cunningham) Do you remember that feeling when smoke gets in your eyes It’s a momentary pain and you know that it will subside Yeah I feel that way when I see your face Remember a time, a feeling or a place I’m not very certain bout the way I’m living But I know that I will survive I’ll see you tonight Like every other time we’ll say hi, maybe next time Yeah I’ll see you tonight, when this town comes alive Yeah I’ll see you tonight Every Saturday night I do the same things over and over Ask myself why am I going to the Town Hall hotel, I can never stay sober…. I’m not very certain where the girls are going But I know there not going where I’m going Yeah I’ll see you tonight when this town comes alive And I’ll be with the Ghosts when this town comes alive Yeah I’ll be with the ghosts when this town comes alive Will I see you tonight?

Bicycle Man 04:13
Bicycle Man (written by Stewart Cunningham) I’m a steady rolling man, I do what I can I don’t own no land, just a bicycle man Like a bicycle man, I roll thru this land day after day, I take some time to understand I’m a steady rolling man, yes that’s what I am, I’m a steady rolling man, I do what I can Take some time when I can, I gotta make my stand A steady rolling man, not wanted in this land Everybody wants their gold, I’ll settle for the cold And some time to grow old, just some time to steady roll Like a steady rolling man Pushing up the hills but I roll down to the sea Here comes a steady rolling man, like a bicycle man Pushin up the hill but I’ll roll down to the sea Like a steady rolling man Like a steady rolling man, yes that’s what I am, Like a steady rolling man, I do what I can Like a steady rolling man Like a bicycle man

about

Through the Cracks was released as a CD EP only in May 2008 and has now SOLD OUT.

Whilst recording the Rich Kids album in 2007, we put down some extra tracks and a few covers to flesh out the recording session. The band re-recorded some songs from Cunningham’s earlier bands….SEE YOU TONIGHT (originally by Brother Brick) got a grittier live re-working and ROCK’N’ROLL SOUND (originally performed by Challenger-7) got a tempo lift and a more straight down the line delivery. Throw in a few choice covers – MELT by Dom Mariani band The Someloves, Slim Harpo’s swampy HIPSHAKE and you have the makings of very rockin little gem of a release.

When the release of the resulting Rich Kids album was delayed an Ep of these left over recordings was quickly rushed out through local Wollongong based record label Musicfarmers (they later evolved into Impedance Records and would release the CD version of Leadfinger’s We Make the Music album in 2011). Through the Cracks is topped up by re-imagined versions of the best tracks from the debut Leadfinger release the floating life, notably a killer rock version of live favourite EDGE OF SUBURBIA and open G versions of A BEAUTIFUL SOUND and the quirky BICYCLE MAN with guest Kaylene Milner from The Nice Folk adding her signature trumpet blasts that really make this track.

Plans are afoot to do another pressing as we often get asked for this obscure release, it really did fall through the cracks and only the lucky few got copies.
