Wandering Man Aug 2011 Just like a Gypsy, I was born in a Caravan My good luck to be born a simple wandering man Turned myself inside out, twisting on a roundabout Looking for an easy way out, Going on a walkabout Hear the people shout Here comes the wandering man Don’t try to understand just keep a wondering Here comes the wandering man Like a Hobo, I have lived on the side of the road My bad luck to be in such a miserable hole Turn myself inside out, twisting on the roundabout Looking for an easy way out, head off on walkabout Hear the children shout A house ain’t a home, when you’re alone A house ain’t a home, when you’re alone.

December Runaway Run Run Runaway with me Yeah I want you to come along Christmas is coming to town And it always seems to bring me down Cos it’s all, it’s always the same, And I always leave everything too late Come on and runaway with me I want you to take me away December is always crazy And Sydney gets it oh so wrong I can’t afford to buy you diamond rings But I can sing you Nick Lowe songs I know you like him So run run runaway with me Christmas, just you and me, no family I’ll make all the calls I’ll tell everyone we’re going away I want you to be my December runaway I want you to be my Christmas runaway And this is my call, this is my call to restraint No longer enthusiastic after 20 years of complaints Christmas time, Christmas time, it never seems to abate So give me 1 more year and maybe I can make it a wait Run Run Runaway with me Yeah I want you to come along Christmas is coming to town And it always seems to bring me down Be my December runaway

Edge Of Suburbia I got lost in suburbia Hanging out at the edge of the world they can’t find me here in suburbia I’m on the internet telephone calls In suburbia - I’ll hide away at the end of the world If you find me here in suburbia You might find yourself in suburbia Spend the days in a haze Computer games and wasting time Searching to free your mind I’m anonymous a face in the middle of a crowd heading home… Heading home thru space, suburbia, I’ll hide away If you find yourself in suburbia You might find the edge of suburbia You’ll pend the days in a haze I got lost in suburbia, I found myself hanging out at the end of the world Just hanging out… Playin guitar just like Neil Young Cruising the bush I got nature and fun Electric blues, another cup of tea Jump on a train ride along with me The edge of suburbia, I’ll fade away They can’t find me here in suburbia You’ll find me on the edge of suburbia You can spend the days in a Haze

Rich Kids You’re all white and clean and live in the best parts of this – town Yer Daddy bought you a house and a job The silver spoon, I got nothing, so tell me your truth Rich kids playing rock’n’roll Tell yer Daddy he can’t buy you no soooooo – ul, Soul Tell me bout your vintage guitars You stick em in your two car garage Tell me bout your latest cd’s Don’t mention your plasma tv’s Rich kids playing rock’n’roll Tell yer Daddy he can’t buy you no soooooo – ul, Soul Rich kids wanna be just like you and me But they don’t work in no factory & they don’t know what it’s like to be so alone, ohhh Yer Getting down with the working class But Your songs have nothing to say to me On a search for meaning in a life Where anything you wanted was given to you When it’s over you’ll be gone You’ll drop your fake r’n’r tongue When it’s over I’ll see you run Back to your palace in the sun

The Floating Life (inspired by John Forbes) I wanted to survive, I wanted to get high, I wanted to invite, I wanted to incite, I wanted just enough, I wanted to depart, I wanted to imbibe, I wanted to survive I want to survive With the justice of a rich man, not the fortunes of a poor man’s tomb And like a tinsel landscape I’m walking past false doors Through traffic lights and stop signs I wanted to survive oh yeah I wanted to get high, wanted to invite, I wanted to incite, I wanted just enough, I want to survive and I wanted just to get by Not the fortunes of a rich man, I’m not the equal of a poor man. I’m Floating like a punch, a knockout sucker Like the hue of your fake suntan I’ve seen all the tough gestures And souvenirs that don’t add up to nuthin much All these things are portable, as for the rest They can take these words and they can play them on the radio They float through the air It’s Floating life, A flow, I’m floating by, A Floating Life, Floating, I float through time And then I just get higher And then I’m gone away Oh yeah, oh yeaah And this is beautiful It’s summer and the trees, I want it to survive I got water running down the walls and down the street, And down my steps I want to survive, I want to invite, I wanted just enough I want to survive, I want to survive, I want to survive and I I want you to come back…sometime

about

As of 2015, Leadfinger have released 4 albums and 3 EP's and albums and we've just got album #5 ready for release in 2016...in the meantime we figured we'd put together a compilation of some of our best obscure tunes from the past...there are some great buried tracks at the end of albums and on long disappeared Ep's that we've grown to love. Hope you do too.
